I have been creating art work since Sister Denise Marie hung my drawing of Jesus on the classroom bulletin board in parochial school when I was 7. I knew immediately I “needed” to be creative. I have participated in almost every art medium in the 60 years since, from pencils and pottery to felting and fine art.
I was juried in at the Appalachian Craft Center about six years ago with my felted handbags and since have branched out to needle felting and have created many holiday ornaments. This sculpturing technique lead me to working in clay again (a medium I hadn’t tried for several years) and I developed my line of whimsical sculpted animals. I have also been juried in with my pastels…..probably where my artistic heart is…. and have felt very lucky to have sold many here. I am so happy to be a member and love working with all my fellow artists because, as we all know, creativity has no age limit!
