Jo Ann Hasty

I have been a psychotherapist for 30+ years and used beading and jewelry-making as a stress reliever. At some point, I realized that I needed to sell some of my work to buy materials to make more.

I have been an active member of Locally Grown Gallery, a Co-Op for artists in Oak Ridge, TN, for at least 15 years. When I retired from the field of psychotherapy in 2015, I began taking classes at AACC & Oak Ridge Art Center. I now include leather, various metal clays, copper, silver & semi-precious stones in my jewelry.

I have Cherokee heritage and have a strong love of natural materials and the out-of-doors. This is reflected in my work. My “power animal” is a bear, thus, I decided to name my workshop Bearly There Studio.
