SUPPORTING ARTS AND CRAFTS IN APPALACHIA THROUGH EDUCATION, SALES, AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

From our Executive Director…Ashley Pegram

February has been very active with improvements at the Center! The Building & Grounds Committee installed new Exit sign light fixtures, received quotes for updating the lighting inside the gift shop, installed handicap parking signs, and even started renovating the front porch and garden area.

The Standards Committee juried in 4 new artists; quilting, enameling, precious metal clay jewelry, and metalwork (blacksmith). Be sure to visit soon to see our newly added work!

Our Treasurer, Ray Synder, has been meeting with the various committees to brainstorm future budget needs. Our Board is exploring strategic planning options to develop a 3-year plan for the center. These types of sessions really help keep the center propelling and moving forward into the future!

The Education Committee met to discuss ideas for a one day Kids Camp to be hosted this summer at the center. We will need volunteers to help manage the various craft tables, donate supplies, and even join the committee!

Public Relations is working hard on our Facebook page and trying to get the center going with online sales. If you’re interested in selling items online, please let me know!

Note from Denise May: Please send photos, descriptions, weights or sizes, and prices of work to sell online to me at dcruey55@gmail.com. I’ll get them in the eShop ASAP.
