I have been creating art for many years and received my Bachelor of Creative Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I started as a handweaver and spinner. I often took traditional patterns and altered them using texture and color. I continued my love of texture and color in producing handbound books using brightly colored threads in exposed spines and used some of my own colored covers.
Then I discovered enameling about four and a half years ago and got hooked! It gives me the opportunity to again work in many colors. I work in copper, brass and silver. Many of my pieces are cut by hand with a jeweler’s saw, which makes them a bit more unique.
Enameling is always an adventure. Sometimes you are completely surprised by the results. But this makes it all the more fun and challenging.
