One of the challenges we’ve faced in 2020 is incorporating the “new normal” into our day-to-day lives. At the Appalachian Arts Craft Center (AACC), our unique approach in these challenging times includes creating fun within our community with safe hands-on, informative classes and socially responsible gatherings of local artists and crafters. Included in this array is a phenomenal team of textile weavers that meet every Tuesday, always creating new woven items, always coming up with ideas to “re-invent the woven wheel,” while staying true to traditional weaving techniques.
The world of textiles is truly fascinating. While our group holds true to the history and much of the traditions of textile production in Appalachia, they venture to discover new and creative ways to design one-of-a-kind handmade items that can bring beauty to your home or serve as a gift for someone special. The Tuesday Weavers at AACC constantly come up with new, imaginative ways to produce original, practical art pieces.
Our gift shop in between Clinton and Norris, TN, just off I-75 (Exit 122) carries a wide selection of handmade woven textiles. You will find rugs, placemats, clothing and more. Some items are also available at our E-Store.
